The Asian region is the origin of various civilizations which can be considered ‘the world’s heritage’. The Asian identity created arts and cultural forms such as language and literature, music, performance arts, as well as rituals and ceremonies which show not only the power of beliefs but also the prosperous world of the mankind. In the rapidly changing world today, Asian arts and cultures have been moulded into contemporary forms where their strengths are retained and adapted. Today’s changes have made the arts and culture of Asia even more charming and interesting for such an era.
Srinakharinwirot University in collaboration with Khon Kaen University, Ubon Ratchathani Univerity, Walailak University, Thaksin University, Thailand, Guangxi Teachers Education University, China, and East 15 Acting School, Essex University, UK is holding an international conference on arts and culture and Asian indigenous knowledge titled ‘The Asian Conference on Arts and Cultures 2013’ between June 13–14, 2013 at Srinakharinwirot University, Bangkok, Thailand. The conference’s objective is to bring together the academics and experts from different parts of the world to share knowledge, research and academic works in various aspects, and consequently create an academic network of those who contribute to the body of knowledge in the field of Asian arts and culture. |
